We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced occupational therapist with proven clinical skills and an interest in clinical/operational/strategic development to join our team based in Canterbury.
The East Kent Rehabilitation Service offers a 12‑month secondment for a Band 7 Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. The successful applicant will deliver occupational therapy interventions as part of the MDT at Ethelbert Road inpatient rehabilitation unit (6 sessions – 3 days per week) and provide occupational therapy leadership to inpatient and community rehabilitation for the remaining 4 sessions (2 days per week) as part of the wider leadership team.
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle for business purposes (unless they have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Responsibilities
* Lead the identification, development and delivery of the occupational‑therapy contribution within the East Rehabilitation pathway, encompassing inpatient and community rehabilitation.
* Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate therapeutic interventions for service users within one of the inpatient rehabilitation units.
* Manage a defined caseload of complex service users with occupational needs using evidence‑based, service‑user‑centred, hope and recovery, health promotion and relapse‑prevention oriented principles and practice.
* Provide clinical leadership for junior staff and students through supervision, appraisal and training, and manage the quality and performance of the occupational‑therapy team.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Band 7 occupational therapist experience with a proven track record of clinical leadership.
* Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a car/vehicle (unless exempt).
* Strong clinical, operational and strategic developmental skills with a commitment to evidence‑based practice.
