Bathgate Academy is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic Principal Teacher: Raising Attainment (PT2)
The successful candidate will support the vision for the school and implement strategies to achieve this vision. This is a key post which comes at an exciting and challenging time for education in the school.
The successful candidate will support raising attainment of our young people to help them to achieve a positive, sustained destination on leaving school in line with national priorities, West Lothian and the school's improvement plan.
The person will be a key member of the Extended Leadership team working collaboratively with colleagues and external data analysts to address the needs of all our young people.
The post holder will have a focus on attainment, the S6 experience and the alignment of school systems to ensure a culture of inclusivity across our school where processes support our aims of continued improvement and positive outcomes across our school community. The post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of school policies as relevant.
Bathgate Academy is a comprehensive non-denominational school and serves a cluster of five primary schools.
The school roll is currently 1180 and this is steadily rising due to housing developments within the area and an ever-increasing confidence from the community about the standard of education we provide.

The successful candidate will have the necessary experience to assist in taking forward the principles of Curriculum for Excellence in order to support our young people and the improvement agenda of the faculty, school and authority.
A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.
The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18.
