Overview
Customer and Trading Manager - Convenience role based in Bristol, United Kingdom. You will lead day-to-day store operations, work with a small team of managers, and be accountable for the full shop when the senior manager is not present. You’ll focus on delivering excellent customer service, product availability, safety standards, and efficient daily operations, while coaching colleagues and driving performance.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with a small team of managers to keep the store running smoothly every day.
* Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store, often acting as the only on-shift manager with accountability for the full shop.
* Collaborate with teams to complete tasks, ensuring customers are served efficiently and safely.
* Manage people-related activity, including performance, capability, disciplinary matters, and ensuring scheduling and pay are accurate.
* Assist other nearby stores when required as part of a network of convenience stores.

* Previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
* Provides brilliant customer service and coaches a team to do the same.
* Delivers KPIs and other performance indicators.
* Can manage disciplinary and performance issues or other employee relations matters.
* Leads operations and is comfortable working independently in the absence of more senior management.
Essential Criteria
* A track record of delivering brilliant customer service and coaching colleagues to do the same.
* Experience of leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment — you’ve motivated others, driven performance, and kept operations running smoothly.
* Operational leadership skills — you’ve taken responsibility for store operations in the absence of more senior managers.
* Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs — sales, availability, customer satisfaction, or colleague engagement.
* Experience in managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
