SEND Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time
Salary: £24,790 - £25,584 Annually (FTE)
Location: Plymouth

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who has experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and is committed to creating a supportive and effective learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
Work closely with children in the primary phase who have SEND, ensuring their learning and social development needs are met.
Use initiative and adaptability to tailor educational provisions to meet the unique needs of each child.
Deliver targeted interventions to support children's learning and development.
Maintain a purposeful learning environment that fosters academic and personal growth.
Collaborate with teachers and other team members to enhance educational practices and support for SEND students.
Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and students to facilitate consistent support and development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working with children with SEND.
Experience in the primary education phase.
Self-motivated, flexible, and resilient with a strong team spirit.
Effective communication skills.
Dynamic, hardworking, and positive attitude.
Proven ability to deliver educational interventions.
High expectations and understanding of behaviour management using a trauma-informed approach.
Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths GCSE.
NVQ3 or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred.
