Part time legal secretary - 20 hours per week split between 2 full days and one ½ day.
Required qualifications, skills and experience.
* No experience of working in a legal practice is required but would be preferable.
* Word processing skills and typing skills required.
* Experience in audio typing is preferred but not essential.
Role
Your role would be to work along with other part time legal secretaries and report to the principal of the firm. You are expected to use a high degree of self management and have the ability to work under your own initiative and also have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Type up letters, emails and prepare court documentation and online applications for various legal documents.
* Open files on our client record system and when an application is made for legal aid is made, along with the administration of your own files and filing.
* Prepare mail and enclosures for despatch, photocopying as required and submitting online applications.
* Make appointments and keep the diary up to date.
When dealing with clients, both in person and on the telephone, you will require to provide support and act in a friendly and courteous manner in relation to all aspects of client care.
