About the Role
Responsible for driving organisational impact by leading the hybridoma‑to‑recombinant conversion programme and delivering robust, compliant recombinant processes for new product development and pharma partnerships. Acts as a technical expert, strengthening long‑term capability through technical leadership, continuous improvement, and coaching of scientists to improve delivery, quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
* R&D lead for ongoing Hybridoma‑to‑Recombinant conversion programme
* Technical expert for Recombinant Technology, providing training and coaching for the site on recombinant tools
* Lead all R&D recombinant manufacturing activities for NPD and pharma work, driving process improvements and optimisations
* Collaborate on innovations using recombinant technologies
Qualifications and Experience
* Significant recombinant cell culture experience (CHO/HEK)
* Design and preparation of plasmids used in recombinant expression systems
* Experience working in a regulated environment
* Experience in product development and/or developing ideas from conception to project initiation
* PhD preferred
Preferred Additional Experience
* AI tools for in‑silico antibody development / discovery
* Scaling and optimizing CHO cell culture processes in a regulated environment
Travel and Physical Requirements
Travel expectations: Low (10%)
