Teaching Personnel is currently on the hunt for the next set of teaching assistants to support and nurture a class of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These needs can include, but are not limited to, emotional and behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD, communication challenges, anxiety, depression, medical needs, and specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. This makes understanding, empathy, and patience essential qualities for the role. You will work with students aged between 5 and 16, playing a critical part in creating a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive both academically and emotionally.
Position Details:
• Start date – September 2025 (continuing throughout the academic year)
• Working hours – 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (may vary depending on the school)
• Schedule – Monday to Friday, term time only (part-time and full-time options available)
• Location – Bath (BA area)
• Potential to transition to a contract with the school for the right candidate (if desirable)
What you’ll do:
• Support the classroom teacher in delivering the curriculum, assisting students with learning either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
• Work closely with a team of teaching assistants to provide tailored support to students in a classroom of 8 to 10 pupils
• Develop strong and trusting relationships with students to create a positive working environment where they can thrive
• Build trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel welcomed in your presence and are motivated to perform at their best
• Foster professional relationships with fellow teaching staff in your classroom and across the school
Who are we looking for?
• Someone with a genuine passion for education who is looking to begin or continue their career in this field
• Strong behavioural management and communication skills
• Experience is not essential – as long as you have the drive and determination, we’d love to hear from you!
• Experience with SEN or challenging behaviour, either professionally or personally, is desirable but not essential
