Overview
Lead Clinician to manage the in-house Clinical Team at The Shires – Oakham / Stretton, Rutland. The postholder will work collaboratively with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload, delivering bespoke assessment and intervention plans for students with complex needs (autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma, SEMH). Meeting EHCP needs will be a primary focus, target-led via OFG clinical approaches embedded in practice. The Lead Clinician will coordinate line management of the onsite clinical team and lead service development of the school-based clinical service alongside the school SLT and Regional Clinical Lead. All settings maintain a safeguarding culture with pupil-centred decision making.
Location: The Shires, Stretton / Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands LE15 7GT / LE15 6JB (The Shires).
Responsibilities
* Lead and line-manage the in-house clinical team; coordinate service development of the school-based clinical service.
* Deliver bespoke assessments and intervention plans for pupils with complex profiles of need (autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma, SEMH).
* Balance clinical practice with management duties; hold a therapy caseload while guiding the team’s clinical work.
* Collaborate with the school’s Senior Leadership Team and Regional Clinical Lead to align with EHCP targets and OFG clinical ways of working (all/group/individual).
* Maintain a person-centred, safeguarding-focused approach and involve pupils in decisions affecting them.
* Support growth of colleagues, apprentices, students and therapy assistants and contribute to continuous improvement of the service.
Essential Criteria
* Degree qualification in a specific discipline; valid and up-to-date professional registration and membership of a professional body (e.g., BPS).
* Experience with the specialist client group (autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs); concise report writing of clinical and research activities.
* Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team; ability to work independently and dynamically within a growing clinical service.
* Experience of multi-professional collaboration within a designated specialty.
* Full UK valid driving license and access to own vehicle.
Hours, Contract & Location
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. Contract: Permanent (term-time only or flexibility around full-time discussed). Location: The Shires, Stretton / Oakham, Rutland.
