Job Summary:
1. To support the payments relating to the provision of accommodation for looked after children, Youth Offending Service, Leaving Care, Supported Lodgings and training flats worth over £3M per month.
2. To ensure the accuracy and consistency of records relating to the payments made and support the production of ongoing financial projections.
3. Assist in resolving invoice queries to avoid overpayment and recover funds when appropriate.
4. To support the wider payments and finance team as required.
5. To act as a contact point for external providers and social workers in relation to payments
Personnel Specification:
6. 2 years working in a busy office environment
7. NVQ level 2 in business administration or equivalent
8. Use of IT systems and office software
9. A understanding of payment processes include records management, maintaining an audit trail, reconciliation
10. Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
11. Understanding of different accommodation types for looked after children
12. Understand the practical implications of contracts i.e. applicability of notice periods
13. Self-motivated
14. Excellent attention to detail and accurate work
15. Proven ability to work under pressure
16. Ability to work under pressure using own initiative or as part of a team
17. Capable of working with all types of people
18. Experience of prioritising and organising own workload
19. Effective communication skills
