Salary: £33,000 – £37,000 DOE / Full Time Permanent / 40 Hour Week

The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-performing Contracts Supervisor to play a pivotal role in the continued growth of our Grounds Maintenance division.
This is a supervisory role with the aim of developing into a leadership position responsible for delivering operational excellence, maintaining commercial control, and strengthening client relationships across multiple contracts in both private and public sectors.

The Role
You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and commercially controlled delivery of allocated Grounds Maintenance contracts.
Operational Delivery
8. Manage day-to-day contract performance
9. Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget and to specification
10. Maintain full Health, Safety & Environmental compliance
11. Manage daily work schedules using dedicated software
12. Conduct site audits covering quality, productivity, H, S&E and client satisfaction
13. Oversee fleet, plant and machinery management
14. Drive efficiency and accountability across teams
Commercial Control
15. Work closely with the Business Manager to monitor budgets and labour
16. Identify and flag performance deviations early
17. Prevent and reduce waste overspend
18. Authorise timesheets
19. Identify opportunities for contract growth and upselling
This role requires strong commercial awareness alongside operational capability.
Client & Stakeholder Management
20. Act as primary operational contact for allocated contracts
21. Respond promptly and professionally to client queries
22. Support client meetings and performance reviews with the Business Manager
23. Escalate risks where appropriate
Strong client relationships are critical to renewal success and divisional growth.
Leadership & Team Development
24. Directly manage Team Leaders and Operatives
25. Conduct structured 1-1 meetings
26. Address underperformance decisively
27. Deliver Toolbox Talks and reinforce a strong H&S culture
28. Identify training needs and support succession planning
You will lead by example and set clear performance expectations.

About You
36. 5+ years within the Grounds Maintenance sector
37. A minimum of 2 years’ leadership experience at Team Leader or Contract Manager level (including trainee roles).
38. Operationally strong and detail-focused
39. Commercially aware and financially disciplined
40. Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
41. Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital systems
42. Calm, decisive and professional under pressure
43. Full UK driving licence
