Job Title: Assistant Acoustic Consultant
Location: Thetford
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 + Benefits
A respected engineering and environmental consultancy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant Acoustic Consultant to join its expanding team in Thetford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with around 1-2 years’ experience in acoustics to progress their career as part of a specialist, multi-disciplinary group delivering varied and impactful projects.
In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality acoustic assessments across sectors including environmental planning, infrastructure, and building acoustics. You’ll have the chance to develop your technical skillset, gain valuable hands‑on project experience, and work closely with experienced acousticians and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out environmental noise surveys and on‑site acoustic measurements
* Preparing detailed technical reports and supporting documentation
* Assisting with noise modelling and acoustic design input
* Communicating with clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders
* Supporting colleagues on multidisciplinary project work
Requirements
* Degree in Acoustics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline
* 1-2 years’ relevant experience in environmental or building acoustics
* Working towards (or already holding) IOA membership is advantageous
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
