An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cheltenham Bournside School as a Teacher of Geography. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Geography to join a lively and enthusiastic Geography department.
The successful candidate will be a key part of the team, who will teach Geography across the Key Stages, and will contribute to the strengths of the department. They will teach Geography to highly motivated and talented pupils from Year 7 to 13, planning and preparing courses and lessons according to their educational needs and providing guidance and advice on their further education and future careers.
You will be joining a lively and enthusiastic Geography department, at Cheltenham Bournside School, where Geography is a very popular subject at both GCSE, with 10 classes in Year 10 and 11, and A Level with 2 classes in both Year 12 and 13. The Geography department consists of the Head of Geography and 6 other Geography teachers.
The department believes in developing learning outside of the classroom with fieldwork in all year groups both on the school and further afield including trips to The Forest of Dean, Bristol, London and Gloucester as well as more locally in Cheltenham. All teachers take part and contribute to these trips and we welcome new ideas for developing our current fieldwork offer.
The post would be an ideal opportunity for a new entrant to the profession although equally attractive to a more experienced colleague. We have a positive commitment to supporting Early Career Teachers and a comprehensive staff development programme.
