The Care Assistant role
The Care Assistant provides homecare services to our customers, including health & wellbeing activities, housekeeping, personal care, and companionship.
Care Assistants are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care that complies with CQC standards and supports re-enablement, demonstrating understanding, empathy, respect, and warmth to our customers.
Responsibilities include:
1. Visiting customers daily to follow their personal care plans, assisting with tasks such as mobility, bathing, dressing, mealtimes, medication, and continence care.
2. Supporting house duties like fitness activities, health programs, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and errands such as medical appointments and prescription collection.
3. Encouraging customers to maintain independence in daily activities and personal care.
4. Liaising with family members when needed.
5. Respecting customers' dignity and privacy.
6. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies.
7. Attending training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.
8. Having a driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred, as the role is community-based.
Key Skills & Requirements:
* Support from the Audley Academy, including a full induction and care certificate completion.
* Funding for QCF Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care.
* Good communication skills in English.
* Proficiency with a company mobile app and electronic logs.
* Knowledge of the local area.
* High standards of personal presentation and hygiene.
* Ability to prioritize and adapt to customer needs.
* Role model qualities in customer service.
