We are looking for an experienced and strategic Agriculture Planning Lead to establish and lead the agricultural planning capability for the Pork & Lamb Business Unit.
This is a high-impact role responsible for developing robust short-term and long-term supply plans (12–36 month), aligning farm production, procurement and processing requirements. You will provide data-driven insights and scenario analysis to support decision-making at BU Executive Director level, while building the processes, governance and KPIs required for a mature, effective agricultural planning function.
This role is ideal for someone comfortable working in an evolving agricultural planning environment, with the ability to build robust processes and capability from the ground up.

Reporting to: Head of Supply Chain Planning – Pork & Lamb BU
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate demand versus supply for pigs across the BU
* Develop weekly short-term supply plans
* Produce 12–36 month long-term agricultural supply outlooks
* Align supply requirements across internal farms and external suppliers
* Manage volume, weight/specification profiles and provenance
* Ensure clear visibility of inbound risks, constraints and opportunities
* Build planning scenarios across sourcing mix, cost evolution and supply availability
* Translate complex data into clear recommendations for the BU Executive Director
* Provide structured, insight-led decision support
* Monitor UK pig market price benchmarks (APP)
* Track feed cost evolution and broader production trends
* Integrate external market dynamics into planning assumptions
* Design and implement standardised agricultural planning processes
* Establish a clear planning cadence (weekly / monthly)
* Improve data quality, visibility and consistency
* Coordinate cross-functionally with Agriculture, Procurement, Planning and Finance
* Track and drive performance
* Develop additional KPIs in collaboration with Agriculture and Finance teams
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Strong analytical and scenario-modelling capability
* Mandatory experience within the pork industry
* Deep understanding of pork supply chains
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
* Experience operating in low-maturity or build-out environments
* Knowledge of the UK pig market
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Advanced Excel and dashboarding capability
* Advanced PowerPoint skills
Qualifications
* Degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Economics or a related discipline
* Fluent written and spoken English
* Experience with QLIK or similar data analysis tools
