Overview
We are recruiting for a dynamic Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or NMP trainee to join our Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), now known as Children and Young People\'s Services (CYPS). The service is within CYPS Community Team Northeast Hampshire (formerly CAMHS Aldershot). The successful candidate will work four days per week as part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on Getting more help under the i-THRIVE framework, delivering assessments and interventions for children and young people experiencing psychological distress and supporting the Clinic Duty System. There are opportunities to supervise, support, and develop junior staff, and to participate in learning disability and neurodevelopmental training.
Responsibilities
* Lead and contribute to early identification, management and intervention for CYP with anxiety, depression, ADHD and related conditions.
* Provide prescribing within the team in line with NMP responsibilities.
* Interface with services to promote connectivity and effective care planning.
* Act as a case load holder of CYP as part of the medical team offer within CT.
* Provide supervision and training to other qualified nurses and student nurses.
Qualifications
Essential
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) / Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities (RNLD)
* Nurse Medical Prescriber (V300) or in the process of obtaining
* Mentorship qualification
* Valid UK driving license
Desirable
* ADOS or ADHD diagnostic assessment training
Experience
Essential
* Minimum three years experience working with children/young people in mental health and/or neurodevelopment
* Experience with assessment and support for individuals with complex presentations
* At least 6 months prescribing ADHD or other mental health medication (supplementary or independent)
Desirable
* Experience of diagnostic assessments for ADHD/ASD
* Experience prescribing ADHD medications
* Experience working with learning disabilities
Other requirements
* UK professional registration currently held
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as required by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975 (Exceptions Order)
