1 Permanent Post and 1 Fixed term post for 12 months Do you want to be at the forefront of transforming clinical pharmacy, working with a dynamic team? Would you like to develop your clinical skills across a range of specialities before deciding in which area to develop advanced practice? Due to service expansion we now have two vacancies for staff to join our acute clinical pharmacy team. The roles have been funded to allow the pharmacy service to support organisational priorities around frailty, hospital at home, outpatient antimicrobial therapy and complex discharge. As such, the following posts have been designed with the principles of continuous improvement for patients and service innovation at their core. Specialist Clinical Pharmacist- Emergency Care and Antimicrobials (1 x WTE Permanent). This post will enable service expansion into AE and support the early clinical review, discharge and medicines optimisation of frailty patients within the emergency department and admissions wards. There is also an opportunity to support the expansion of the both the inpatient and outpatient antimicrobial service to align with organisational priorities. Specialist Clinical Pharmacist - Frailty (1 x WTE Fixed term) This post will provide direct support to the new acute frailty unit at the Victoria hospital site undertaking clinical reviews, medicines optimisation and supporting with complex discharge while working broadly across the service to support ongoing care upon discharge from hospital Both posts will involve close multidisciplinary working and allow applicants to shape a new service while working at the top of their license. This post would be ideal for someone looking to take that next step in their career and gain experience within a hospital setting. There will also be the opportunity for outpatient experience as the programme is continually evolving to meet service demands. You will be working as a team of specialist pharmacists, supported by pharmacy technicians, foundation pharmacists and senior clinical pharmacists, under the leadership of our Lead Clinical Pharmacists. You will be supported to complete a relevant post graduate framework and train as an independent prescriber within an agreed timescale where appropriate. Applications are welcomed from pharmacists who are passionate about patient care, service development and are keen to develop their clinical experience across a range of settings. Previous hospital experience is not essential as training and support will be given. NHS Fife Pharmacy service serves a population of approximately 380,000 people, and is provided by an integrated team of around 200 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team work across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife. Fife has something to offer everyone and has excellent transport links, being only 30 mins- 1 hour from all major cities.
