We’re hiring for a Social Sustainability Manager as part of to join our team in London on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Purpose of the Role
As a Social Sustainability Manager for the UK, you will develop and deliver initiatives such as Sustainability Week, Client Roundtables, and other events to raise dentsu’s profile, recommending core themes and strategy aligned to business priorities and market context. This will involve;
* Activating the dentsu Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership (CISL) alumni network to raise their leadership profiles, share their learnings, and embed their knowledge.
* Developing agenda, briefing notes, session overviews, FAQs, and 1-pagers
* Briefing in dentsu studio to develop branding, visual identity, and other comms assets.
* Engaging senior leaders for speaking opportunities and brief speakers on talking points.
* Collaborating with Events to promote the event and capture attendee information.
* Producing post-implementation review to analyse and make recommendations.
You’ll be hands on in driving sustainability education (internal and external) and employee engagement initiatives; sustainability upskilling of our employees, One Day for Change (dentsu’s annual volunteering campaign) and chairing internal sustainability champion network. Reporting into the Head of Sustainability UK & EMEA, you will be working in close collaboration with our global sustainability team, EMEA Sustainability Council members, and key functions in the UK including HR, L&D, communications, Sustainability Champions, dentsu UK CISL Alumni and leaders across all of dentsu’s practice areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Increase internal sustainability knowledge to enable our people to be experts of sustainable marketing through implementation of dentsu Sustainable Marketing Academy (UK).
* Recruit and engage subject matter experts across practice areas to be module leads, co-create and co-develop learning modules with module leads (content review, delivery method, assessment).
* Conduct quarterly review to ensure learning modules are up to date and work with L&D and Communications to effectively promote module releases, collecting and analysing module feedback with a kaizen constant improvement mindset.
* Foster a culture of purpose and impact by engaging employees through the Sustainability Champions network and employee resource groups to localise and amplify impact across the UK. (host monthly calls, engage via Teams)
* Measure and analyse data to report impact of key campaigns and programmes, including: %FTE ODFC participation, % employee engagement, employee feedback.
* Identify opportunities and initiatives to drive positive change by finding intersection opportunities between climate action, community engagement, diversity and inclusion, and ethical media.
Qualifications + Skills
* Proven track record of managing multiple employee engagement initiatives (e.g. programme management, events management) with demonstratable outcomes. Sustainability experience is desirable but not required.
* Extensive experience in delivering in delivering multiple initiatives, engaging with senior stakeholders, comfortable with ambiguity to build the required business case.
* Experience in chairing and managing employee network group with exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
* Excellent stakeholder and networking skills needed for successful cross-functional team collaboration (in UK and across other EMEA markets).
* Innovative and creative thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a result-driven mindset.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize a high volume of projects and tasks at one time, a ‘can do’ attitude, resourceful and driven to find solutions and present them, and happy to step up when others need help.
* Passion for social impact, sustainability, and driving positive change.
