Purpose
The Group Financial Accountant will support the Group Finance team with their ongoing reporting requirements and implementation, transition and hypercare of Oracle.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Group Financial Accountant will play a critical role in the accurate and timely reporting of the group’s financial performance. This position demands strong technical accounting knowledge and in-depth, hands-on experience with Oracle Financials. Key responsibilities include managing the month-end close process, intercompany reconciliations, statutory reporting, and acting as a functional expert for Oracle within the finance team.
Financial Reporting & Consolidation: Prepare, review, and consolidate monthly financial statements and management accounts for the group.
Oracle System Management: Utilise Oracle to manage General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Fixed Assets.
Month-End Close: Lead or assist with the month-end close timetable, ensuring journals, reconciliations, and accruals are prepared accurately and on time.
Intercompany & Balance Sheet: Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and complex balance sheet reconciliations.
Statutory Compliance: Support quarterly & statutory audit requirements and ensure compliance with IFRS & EU GAAP.
Process Improvement: Drive efficiency by improving financial controls, automating reporting processes, and reducing manual journals.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with offshore teams, treasury, tax, and external auditors.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Required Skills and Experience
Qualification: Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA).
Experience: first time audit mover / 3-5 years’ experience in industry.
Technical Accounting: Strong knowledge of IFRS.
Advanced Excel: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including SmartView) for data analysis and reporting.
Attributes: Analytical, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills
System Knowledge: Proven experience using Oracle Financials is preferable
Experience in system implementations or upgrades (e.g., Oracle).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accuracy and timeliness of monthly management accounts.
Resolution of balance sheet reconciliations and audit queries.
Optimisation of Oracle system processes.
