NHS Forth Valley has an exciting vacancy for a Clinical Nurse Educator within the Theatre department at FVRH. We are looking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated, enthusiastic registered nurse/ODP to undertake this role and support the team.
This post holder will have specific responsibilities including the identification and mapping of training and education for our Theatre workforce in line with local and national drivers. The post holder will work closely with the PDU, Learning and Education and Lead Nurses to embed clear clinical governance structures into the department for the training and education of staff, ensuring that the Theatre nursing workforce fulfils their requirements to local and national patient safety programmes of work.
The successful candidate will also work conjointly with the Theatre Coordinators and Senior Charge Nurses ensuring that safe & effective person-centred care is achieved through the delivery of a programme of tailored education and training specific to the department.
The post holder will coordinate, collaborate and deliver programmes of training to the workforce within Theatre as well as working on the defined aspect of the wider specific job role.
The successful candidate will have effective leadership skills, experience in delivering education and training, clear and unambiguous communication skills, a sound clinical knowledge of Theatre and a willingness to commit to developing teams. They should also demonstrate evidence of experience in the mentorship & support of colleagues, education delivery and skills needs analysis in relation to training.
Essential Credentials for these posts must include:
• Post graduate qualification or equivalent substantial experience at AFC Band 6 or 7 within a Theatre Dept. / Education environment
• Willingness to develop staff and lead on workforce initiatives / Quality Improvement work
• Enthusiasm for developing and embedding patient safety initiatives through education within the department.
• Genuine interest in Education and Training and a willingness to develop the role further
