Job Description:
As a Junior CAD Assistant, you will support the engineering and design team in producing accurate CAD drawings and technical documentation for a variety of manufacturing projects. This role is ideally suited to a degree-qualified mechanical engineering graduate with some hands-on CAD experience, looking to build a long-term career in design and engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
* Producing 2D CAD drawings using industry-standard software.
* Assisting with design modifications in line with client and production requirements.
* Collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
* Supporting projects from initial concept through to final production.
* Maintaining accurate design records and documentation.
This Junior CAD Assistant role offers excellent exposure to real engineering projects and the opportunity to develop technical expertise within a supportive team environment.
Skills & Experience:
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline).
* 1–2 years’ industry experience in a CAD or design role (including placements).
* Strong CAD skills (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar).
* Good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
