An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as managing risk, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team
* Have strong financial understanding
* Possess problem-solving skills
* Be confident in leading a team
* Be self-motivated and driven
* Have excellent communication skills, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function
Key responsibilities include:
* Being the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims promptly, and assisting in renewal negotiations
* Organising and leading monthly meetings with senior management
* Providing management information to highlight bad and doubtful debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports
* Managing the cash collection process for all Group companies
* Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are efficient and compliant
* Overseeing the Credit Control Department and managing the team proactively
* Processing all group credit applications and PODs
* Making major or sensitive credit decisions
* Controlling credit limits
* Managing litigation, insolvency practitioners, and pursuing claims
* Setting credit policies and managing credit notes
* Assessing risks for existing and new credit applicants
* Maintaining relationships with Credit Control, senior management, and other departments
* Reviewing Terms and Conditions for sales
* Visiting customers and company sites as needed
