Job overview
For this critical care post we require someone with motivation, enthusiasm, and a high standard of care. Performing a key clinical and leadership function, you will provide extensive clinical assessment, advice, support and education to clinical staff caring for critically ill patients, including responsibility for identifying patients who require active treatment.
** Please note we have no access to OSCE support courses, and nurses pending registration are welcome to apply but must be able to evidence that they have a satisfied the NMC Objective Structured Clinical Examination Test of Competence.** *
Main duties of the job
A qualified professional, you will have proven experiences at Deputy level in a critical care setting, and your experiences include leading a team, mentoring and coaching, and audit/research.
You will have excellent communication skills, able to foster relationships between clinicians, allied health care professionals, patients and relatives. You will also have a transformational leadership style, excellent presentation skills and the ability to serve as an effective role model.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
In the absence of the Unit Manager is responsible for the total provision, organisation and direction of the nursing care.
Acts as a resource within the specialism of Critical Care. Empowers the nursing staff and other allied health care professionals to develop the highest possible levels of clinical skill and facilitates communication within all care groups.
Utilising the Unit’s resources to promote excellence in practice and promotes and expedites quality issues relevant to the service delivery
