Senior Community Reablement Officer

We have an exciting opportunity in Adult Social Care! We are seeking to recruit 8 Senior Community Reablement Officers to join the Council’s Active Reablement team, working within a service offering short-term programmes of bespoke Reablement interventions. We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude, innovative thinking, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with people. The service delivery is person-centered and outcomes-focused, aimed at supporting customer’s health, wellbeing, and independence.
You should have knowledge and experience in team working and the ability to work independently. An awareness of manual handling, health and safety practices, and risk assessment is essential.
Additionally, you should understand how to support clients in maintaining independence, choice, and wellbeing, and be familiar with community services. You will assist the Active Reablement Manager in ensuring a high-quality, regulated reablement service for people referred to the service in a community setting. The role may involve deputizing for the Manager as needed.
Applicants should understand confidentiality, data protection protocols, report writing, record keeping, and collaborating with statutory and non-statutory organizations. Experience working with vulnerable clients within a safeguarding framework and knowledge of relevant legislation are required.
The service is part of Croydon’s Borough-wide Reablement services, integrated within the Living Independently For Everyone (LIFE) initiative.
The service operates 7 days a week on a shift rota basis. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to attain a CQC-recognized Care Certificate.
Applicants must be essential car users, hold a current, clean driving license, and be able to travel across the borough. An enhanced DBS check is required.
Full-time position: 36 hours/week.
