The Role: Learning Support Worker
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build essential life skills, and feel safe, supported and understood.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support
* Helping pupils with communication, sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
* Supporting teaching activities set by the class teacher and SENCO
* Encouraging positive engagement and participation
* Promoting independence, confidence and resilience
* Helping to maintain a calm, structured, nurturing classroom
This role is perfect for someone who is patient, empathetic and dedicated—someone who sees the potential beyond the challenges.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be ideal for this role if you have:
* Experience in education, care, youth work, or a related setting
* Experience working with children or young people
* An understanding of, or willingness to learn about Autism, sensory needs, communication difficulties and complex needs
* Strong communication skills
* A warm, resilient and compassionate approach
* An Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
