We are currently seeking a Site Caretaker who is enthusiastic and committed to maintaining high standards across our school premises and grounds, ensuring a safe and well-kept environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. We’re looking for a dedicated Site Caretaker to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep, safety, and security of our school site. What you’ll do: Oversee the security of the premises, including opening, locking, and alarm callouts. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school. Carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and groundskeeping duties. Monitor and manage heating, lighting, and utilities for efficiency. Keep accurate records of compliance checks (fire safety, legionella, asbestos, etc.). Line manage and support the cleaning team, ensuring standards are consistently high. Supervise contractors and ensure safe working practices are followed. Support school lettings, events, and site improvements. What we’re looking for: A proactive, hands-on individual with good problem-solving skills. Experience of site management, maintenance, or a similar role (desirable but not essential). Basic DIY skills and a willingness to learn. An understanding of health and safety regulations (training will be provided). Good IT skills, with the ability to use online systems for record-keeping, compliance, and communication. Flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend events.
