Job Description

Working within the Public Safety business, you will be responsible for defining the policies and standards that guide technology delivery, possessing significant experience in modern, cloud-based technology standards and practices.
As Solution Architect, you are accountable for leading a team of architects and providing architectural design and technology roadmaps for complex Policing and National Security applications supporting high-volume, mission-critical products and services. There will also be opportunities to oversee ongoing architectural needs within our Control Room application suites.
Youll work closely with Product Managers, Delivery, and Technical Leads to influence and define a technology roadmap to meet our commercial and technical goals.
The core aim of this role is to provide technical assurance to ensure the successful deployment of NECSWS Public Safety products into clients while safeguarding our commercial interests.
To succeed, you should be able to mediate between people and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, especially stakeholders at all levels. You should understand the evolving nature of technology delivery in an agile environment, and be capable of facilitating discussions about high risk and complexity within constrained timescales.
The Solution Architect will collaborate with project or programme managers and the wider architecture team to:
* Ensure scope of supply is correctly documented and maintained
* Identify and manage technical project risks
* Agree and document non-functional requirements from customers
* Develop practical impact assessments with well-defined scope and implementation, utilizing existing products where possible
* Identify opportunities for selling additional product capabilities
Qualifications
Knowledge and awareness:
* C++
* C#
* SQL Server
* Windows platforms
* Domains / AD
* Mitel skills-based routing integration
Practical knowledge of some or all of the following:
* C coding
* SIP protocol
* VOIP – RTP / RTCP, including latency/jitter management
In-depth knowledge of some or all of the following:
* Tetra network behaviors – specifically Motorola Dimetra
* 3GPP network behaviors, related to Kodiak MCX, following standards
* MCX API usage with Softil SDK
* Analogue Radio base stations and features – VHF, MF
* Telephone PABX functionality
* Airwave certification processes
* EISEC service
The Solution Architect will manage relationships with customer technical staff, assist with technical issues such as firewall settings, support the bid process including technical responses and infrastructure sizing (mainly cloud-based), and promote the architectural vision within teams.
