This is a hands-on leadership role in a busy agricultural and countryside retail store, where product knowledge and customer relationships are key. You’ll be part of a supportive team, delivering meaningful service while enjoying the stability of a well-established company.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll support the Retail Manager in leading the store team to deliver exceptional service, drive sales, and build lasting customer relationships. You’ll take ownership of team scheduling, coaching, and development, and play a key role in maintaining high shopfloor standards and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Support store management in driving performance and customer satisfaction
* Lead and motivate the team, deputising for the Retail Manager when required
* Manage team rotas and wellbeing, and assist with recruitment and succession planning
* Deliver coaching and product demonstrations to enhance team knowledge and service
* Oversee customer service desk operations including queries, refunds, and special orders
* Ensure active queue management and proactive customer engagement on the shopfloor
* Interpret customer feedback and implement improvements
* Contribute to store KPIs including sales, basket spend, and membership growth
* Support with all stock operation within the store including replenishment, goods in and stock accuracy routines
About You
* Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within retail (minimum 2 years)
* Confident leading and developing a team in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable
* Knowledge of agricultural or countryside retail is highly desirable
* NVQ or equivalent in retail preferred
