Are you an enthusiastic and caring individual looking for a rewarding part-time role supporting students with special educational needs? We have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Maldon, Essex.
As a Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with additional needs, specifically those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will work closely with a designated student, providing 1-2-1 support to ensure they receive the individualised attention and guidance they need to thrive in a mainstream educational setting.
In this role, you will collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with the implementation of personalised learning plans and strategies
* Providing academic support and encouragement to help students reach their full potential
* Facilitating social interactions and promoting the development of communication skills
* Offering emotional support and promoting positive behaviour management techniques
* Maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly with parents and caregivers
Qualifications
* Be focused on working with children and young people with special educational needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
* The ability to adapt to individual student needs and learning styles
* Previous experience working with children or young people with ASD (desirable)
* A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special needs support (desirable)

Salary and hours
