The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established, specialist infrastructure consultancy to appoint a Senior Project Manager supporting major transport programmes across the Manchester region.
This is not a traditional delivery-only role.
You will operate at the front end of infrastructure schemes, helping shape projects, influence strategy, and build trusted client relationships across local authorities and transport bodies.
You’ll support high-profile regional programmes including urban transit and tram network expansion projects, alongside wider highways, and multi-modal infrastructure schemes.
What You’ll Be Doing
Acting as a client-side Project Manager across infrastructure schemes
Supporting projects from early concept, feasibility, and GRIP stages through to delivery
Building and managing relationships with:
Local authorities
Transport bodies.
Utilities organisations
Leading stakeholder engagement and project governance
Supporting business case development and scheme justification
Identifying and supporting new opportunities and client growth (approx. 20%)
Essential Experience
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Transport, etc.)
Chartered status (CEng or ChPP)
Strong experience in a client-side Project Manager role
Background in infrastructure projects (rail, highways, utilities, or transport)
Experience with NEC4 contracts (accreditation desirable)
