Merseyrail is seeking a detail-focused and data-savvy People Analytics Advisor to support our HR team and the wider business through high-quality people reporting and analysis. This is a key role in ensuring decisions across the business are informed by accurate, timely, and meaningful data.

Description
Merseyrail is seeking a detail-focused and data-savvy People Analytics Advisor to support our HR team and the wider business through high-quality people reporting and analysis. This is a key role in ensuring decisions across the business are informed by accurate, timely, and meaningful data.
Working closely with HR and senior stakeholders, you’ll turn raw information into actionable insights and help shape the future of how people data is used to support strategic planning, operational improvements, and employee wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide regular KPI and people data reporting to the HR team and wider business
* Lead on the production of weekly sickness reports and ensure consistency across all departments
* Analyse HR data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
* Ensure all data is accurate, validated, and compliant with GDPR and internal processes
* Support with gender pay gap, shareholder, and other regulatory reporting requirements
* Develop Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visual storytelling
* Present complex data in a clear, user-friendly way for both technical and non-technical audiences
* Work with internal stakeholders to identify reporting needs and respond to ad-hoc data requests
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Proven analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into clear insights
* High proficiency in Excel (Power BI desirable)
* Previous experience in an HR or people data/reporting role
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels
* Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
