Seven Social Care are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Children’s Social Worker to join our established team in South Shields. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is passionate about making a significant difference in the lives of children and families.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out assessments of children and families, identify risk factors and take appropriate measures to ensure child safety.
2. Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with other professionals, ensuring that the needs of the child take precedence.
3. Keep accurate records and prepare reports for legal action, case conferences, and child protection reviews.
4. Assist families in understanding and exercising their rights and responsibilities in relation to child welfare and protection.
5. Building strong partnerships with parents, guardians, carers to facilitate the child’s interests.
6. Provide counselling and support services to children and families to help solve conflicts and enhance wellbeing.
7. Cooperate with relevant stakeholders, including school authorities, health care providers, and other community resources, to provide the necessary services to the child and family.
8. Attend court hearings, representing the interests of the child and providing expert testimony when required.
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Social Work or related field.
2. Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the Social Work England.
3. Substantial experience working with children in a social work setting, with a good understanding of current legislations and practices.
4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with children, families, and professionals.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Flexibility to handle the physical and emotional demands of the job and be able to respond to crisis situations.
