Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting the mental health of young people? A specialist school in Wokingham for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) is seeking a Teaching Assistant - Mental Health to work with children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 facing trauma, mental health, and behavioural challenges, including supporting Looked After Children.
This full-time role is ideal for graduates in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or related fields, though relevant experience will also be considered. The school is based in Oxford, with excellent transport links across the city.
As a Teaching Assistant - Mental Health, you will collaborate with therapists and psychologists, gaining practical experience working with children with significant emotional and developmental needs. Your role will involve supporting their mental health, personal growth, and well-being in a dynamic environment. Experience with SEN, including Autism and ADHD, is a plus.
Role Details
* Salary: £80-£100 per day
* Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm
* Start Date: ASAP
* Ideal Candidates: Graduates in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or those passionate about supporting children with mental health needs
* Experience: Preferred but not essential
