Position Title: Chef De Partie Department: Kitchen
Position Overview The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing a designated section of the kitchen and delivering high-quality dishes in line with hotel standards. The role supports the day-to-day food operation across the restaurant, bar, room service, and events while ensuring consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency within the kitchen team.
The successful candidate will be passionate about food, organised during busy service periods, and capable of maintaining high standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Kitchen Operations Prepare and cook dishes within the assigned kitchen section to the required standards
Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control
Assist with food preparation before service and maintain smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Support functions, events, and banqueting operations where required
Ensure all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner
Teamwork & Kitchen Support Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery
Maintain a clean, organised, and well-prepared section at all times
Support and assist junior kitchen staff when needed
Communicate effectively with colleagues across all kitchen operations
Stock Control, Hygiene & Safety Monitor stock levels within the section and report shortages where necessary
Ensure correct food storage, stock rotation, and waste control procedures are followed
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and comply with HACCP/Cook Safe procedures
Follow all health & safety and allergen regulations at all times
Skills & Competencies Good culinary skills and understanding of kitchen operations
Ability to manage a kitchen section during service
Strong attention to detail and food presentation
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexible attitude towards shifts, weekends, and busy operational periods
