We are working on behalf of one of the largest multidisciplinary consultancies in the UK, specializing in the design of major civil & structural engineering projects across the country. Your New Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and ambitious Civil Engineer with relevant undergraduate/postgraduate qualifications and over 3 years of experience in a comparable role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the UK’s leading private engineering consultancies on projects across the commercial, retail, residential, and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities
1. Design infrastructure for commercial, retail, residential, and industrial sectors, including SUDS drainage systems and roads compliant with adoptable & DMRB standards.
2. Liaise with statutory bodies such as Southern & Thames Water, Roads Department, and local drainage authorities.
3. Proficient in relevant technical analysis and design software such as PDS, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, and AutoCAD.
4. Attend design meetings, site meetings, and conduct site inspections.
5. Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other designers, providing advice and guidance related to your work.
Candidate Requirements
Our client is flexible regarding the criteria for new hires but prefers candidates with:
* A postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Design, Structural Design, Highways Design, or related fields.
* Experience working with civil contractors or design consultancies on highways, civil, structural, or utilities projects.
* Experience managing and implementing design portfolios for relevant projects.
* Proficiency in design software such as CAD and AutoCAD.
* A strong work ethic and ability to work within a driven team of specialists.
* Leadership skills to manage and guide graduate and trainee engineers and consultants.
