Maintenance Engineer

We are recruiting for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer with fabrication experience to join a busy manufacturing site.
This role would suit a practical, hands-on engineer looking to develop their experience within a production environment. It presents a great opportunity to build a long-term career in the manufacturing sector while working across both workshop fabrication and on-site mechanical maintenance.
The Role:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machinery
* Fabricate and repair parts using workshop equipment, including welding
* Support reactive breakdown repairs and general fault finding
* Work from engineering drawings, manuals and manufacturer instructions
* Use measuring and testing equipment to identify mechanical faults
* Complete daily maintenance records and required paperwork
* Keep the workshop organised and maintain safe working standards
* Monitor spare parts and report stock requirements
* Communicate with production teams to support smooth operations
* Follow health & safety, quality and food safety procedures
About You:
* Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance, workshop or engineering role
* Fabrication and welding experience is required
* Comfortable carrying out general mechanical repairs and fault finding
* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Reliable, organised and keen to develop within a manufacturing setting
* Committed to maintaining safe working practices
