Senior Construction Supervisor - Telecom
Location: Qatar / Onshore Projects
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Supervisor with expertise in Telecom, Radio, Fibre Optic, and Microwave systems to oversee large-scale installation projects within the oil & gas sector. The role requires hands‑on supervision, coordination, and management of multiple contractors and site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with contractual and quality requirements.
Qualifications
* Engineering Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or Diploma in Electronics, Communication, or IT Engineering from a recognised university
* Minimum 8-12 years' experience in telecom and related systems construction within the oil & gas industry
* Proven experience with:
o Radio Systems: Microwave Links, TETRA, VHF, UHF, VSAT, Marine Radio
o Security Systems: CCTV, PAGA, PAVA, Access Control
o Fibre Optics: SDH, PDH, OTN
o IP Networking: Switches, Routers, LAN/WAN, Structured Cabling, MDF/IDF
o Telecom Systems: PABX, Hotline, Field & IP Telephones
o Audio/Video Systems
o DC Power Systems: Rectifiers, UPS, Solar Panels, Batteries
Experience & Skills
* Strong knowledge of telecom construction and commissioning activities
* Experience managing EPIC contractors on complex projects
* Ability to identify installation bottlenecks and propose solutions
* Excellent communication and report writing skills
* Proven track record with reputable IT/Telecom companies
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage installation of Access Control, CCTV, LAN/WAN, PAGA, and PABX systems
* Oversee installation of VHF/UHF/TETRA, Microwave Radio, Intercom, Hotline, and Voice Recorder Systems
* Supervise fibre optic cable splicing, testing, and cable tray/conduit installations
* Manage antenna installation, alignment, and LOS verification
* Oversee rack installations (Radio/OTN/CCTV/PAGA) and site construction activities
* Review method statements, commissioning procedures, and endorse redline/as‑built drawings
* Inspect works and materials against project plans and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
* Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions
* Participate in pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities
* Maintain daily site records, report anomalies, and recommend corrective actions
* Sign work permits and ensure contractor compliance with safety and procedural requirements
* Prepare punch lists prior to handover, ensuring quality and completeness of work
* Liaise with QC Inspectors and HSE Officers regarding quality and safety matters
* Actively contribute to engineering and installation workshops including Constructability Reviews, HAZOP, SIMOPS, Risk Assessments, JSA, and JHAs
