Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Maths to lead our Maths department. The successful candidate will develop and deliver a high-quality Maths curriculum tailored to our students' specific needs. As Head of Maths, you will lead a team of teachers, ensuring inclusive, engaging, and effective teaching approaches that meet the diverse needs of our pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Maths department, providing support and guidance to staff.
* Develop and implement a bespoke Maths curriculum for our students.
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons to promote student progress.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted interventions.
* Collaborate with other departments and leadership to promote cross-curricular links and holistic development.
* Ensure teaching resources are accessible and appropriate for students with diverse needs.
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of Maths teaching and learning.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Mathematics or a related field.
* Experience teaching Maths to students with SEND, preferably in a similar setting.
* Strong leadership and management skills to motivate a team.
* Understanding of diverse learning needs and strategies to support students with complex educational needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to inclusive education and adaptable teaching approaches.
* Knowledge of SEN legislation and SEND best practices.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
