Hours – Full-time (39 hours per week – Overtime available)
Shift and schedule – Monday – Thursday 07:30 to 16:00 and Friday 07:30 to 15:00

Job Description:
A well-established hydraulic engineering company based in Dewsbury is looking to recruit a skilled Manual Turner to join its modern and well-equipped machine shop.
With over 35 years of experience in the fluid power industry, the company specialises in the design, manufacture, supply and repair of high-quality hydraulic equipment including cylinders, pumps, motors, valves and power packs. The business focuses on specialist, high-end bespoke work and low-volume production, offering an interesting and varied workload rather than repetitive mass production.
The Role
Working within a large in-house engineering and hydraulics workshop, you will be responsible for producing precision-machined components, mainly one-off and small batch parts (1–10 pieces) used in hydraulic cylinders and associated equipment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys precision work, problem-solving and variety, as much of the work is bespoke and requires a high level of skill and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
7. Operating manual lathes to produce precision components
8. Producing one-off and small batch components
9. Working from engineering drawings and samples
10. Carrying out screw cutting and general turning operations
11. Managing your own workload and working to production schedules
12. Maintaining high quality and accuracy standards
What We’re Looking For
13. Previous experience as a Manual Turner / Manual Machinist
14. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
15. Experience producing bespoke or low-volume components
16. Ideally some experience with NC lathe work
17. A proactive and self-motivated approach to work
