Job Summary
It is an exciting time within community sexual & reproductive health services in Lewisham as integrated contraception, sexual & reproductive health and GUM services continue to develop. We are looking for a full-time sexual health administrator/receptionist.
The successful candidate will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be an enthusiastic, reliable, non-judgmental individual, possessing good organisational and communication skills. Evening and weekend working will be required. Although the main base is Waldron Health Centre, the post holder will be expected to work at any of the Lewisham sexual health community clinics as required. There will be a training programme to support you in delivering confidential, quality care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work to ensure the smooth running of a busy clinic by:
* Ensuring efficient clinic management and escalation of concerns
* Managing reception responsibilities, including dealing with patient requests, booking appointments, and keeping patients informed of delays
* Handling sensitive situations with patients, maintaining confidentiality at all times
* Managing specimens for lab transport
* Chaperoning patients during intimate examinations

Assist the clinic coordinator with administrative duties to support the operation of the sexual and reproductive health services. Key responsibilities include managing reception, handling patient communications, booking appointments, maintaining data accuracy, coordinating interpreter bookings, providing support during busy periods, and managing difficult visitors appropriately.
Person Specification
Experience (Essential):
* Experience in a busy public-facing environment
* Experience in an administrative role
Desirable:
* Experience in healthcare settings
* Experience with ICare/EMIS systems and electronic discharge summaries
* Minute-taking experience
Qualifications and Training (Essential):
* NVQ 2 or equivalent, with additional experience to NVQ 3
* GCSE English Language or equivalent
* Good handwriting, spelling, and numeracy skills
Desirable:
* NVQ Business Administration - Level II or equivalent
* RSA II
* Certificate in Office
* ICare/EMIS training
