Opticore IT are currently searching for Network Operations Engineers to join a well-established Network Operations Team supporting one of the UK’s largest hospitality businesses, with nearly 1,000 sites across the country. This is an initial 6 month contract opportunity Inside IR35 with the prospect of extension. You will be required to be on site 3 days a week in Dunstable area.
Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
What you’ll be doing:
* Manage and resolve day-to-day BAU network support tickets across wired, wireless, and SD-WAN environments.
* Perform remote configuration checks and audits on newly migrated client sites to ensure network compliance and performance standards are met.
* Support changes, maintenance, and small-scale configuration updates under supervision or following standard procedures.
* Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and elevate complex incidents to senior engineers where necessary.
* Maintain accurate network documentation and contribute to the continual improvement of operational processes.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the Network Operations team to ensure consistent service delivery.
* Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and updates when required (no weekend or on-call work).
What you’ll bring:
* Solid understanding of core networking principles — TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and Wi-Fi fundamentals.
* Relevant vendor certifications (e.g. Aruba ACMA, CCNA/P, or equivalent).
* Experience working within a Network Operations or Service Support environment.
* Familiarity with Aruba networking technologies (Wireless, Wired, or SD-WAN/SilverPeak) and management tools such as Aruba Central or ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM).
* Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
