Lead HR Operations Specialist – Shared Services Competitive Salary and Benefits Glasgow Hybrid working: 3 days on-site, 2 from home This is a rare opportunity to step into a hands-on HR Operations role at a key moment of growth for a global organisation. Our customer is building a brand-new HR Shared Services hub in Glasgow to support employees across Europe and North America. As part of that journey, they’re looking for an experienced HRSS professional to become the go-to expert, problem solver, and trusted escalation point for the team. If you enjoy being the person who handles the trickiest cases, the VIP queries, and the situations that really need judgement, this is a role where you’ll thrive. What you’ll really be doing You’ll be the specialist that the wider HRSS team turns to when things get complex. That means : Taking ownership of escalated and VIP HR cases across EMEA and North America Managing cross-border transactions like international transfers, reorganisations and sensitive exits Making sure HR data, contracts and records are right first time, compliant and audit-ready Acting as the first point of escalation for the Glasgow team - coaching, guiding and sense-checking colleagues when they need support Working closely with Payroll, HRBPs, Finance, Legal and HRIS to keep things moving smoothly Helping shape and improve how the new HR Shared Services hub works as it goes live and grows You won’t have people management responsibility, but you will have real influence - this is a senior “expert in the room” role. The kind of person who will love this role You’re someone who: Has proven experience in HR Shared Services, HR Operations or high-volume HR environments Enjoys dealing with complex, sensitive and cross-border cases Knows how to balance employment law, policy and good judgement Feels comfortable being the person others escalate to Likes structure, accuracy and getting things done properly Is confident working with different cultures, countries and time zones You don’t need to be strategic HR - this is about being really good at operational HR and enjoying being the expert.
