Parkside care home offers comfortable nursing and residential care for anyone over 18. Short stay options are available if you’re in need of recovery or some respite. The home can provide palliative and Parkinson’s care. The purpose-built home is spacious, bright and airy, with pleasant gardens and a neighbourhood feel.
At Parkside they focus on person-centred care, upholding the resident’s dignity, respect and independence. Activity coordinators help ensure there are plenty of enjoyable activities. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities with a 24-hour call system, many with views of the surrounding gardens. Parkside prides itself on balanced and nutritious meals freshly prepared daily, tailored to each resident’s preferences. Residents are encouraged to recover or retain independence, make friends, and pursue interests. Weekly clubs help residents stay active and engaged, with onsite access to an hairdresser and visiting mobile library.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in leading and supporting the home. You’ll:
* Take day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
* Support with clinical duties, including assisting the nurse to observe, administer medication, review care plans and maintain accurate records
* Drive and manage a team of Care Assistants, including responsibility for all shift handovers
In addition, you’ll help with:
* Training and supervision of new staff to ensure they feel welcomed and supported
* Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
* Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
Key Skills / Qualifications
* You’ll have completed / be working towards an NVQ3 in care. We’re happy to support you in completing your qualification if needed.
* You’re motivated, positive, have great interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a close-knit team. You’ll play a pivotal role in running a unit and aiding with clinical duties alongside the Nurse.
* You have prior experience in the role and understand its rewards and challenges, with a genuine passion for making a real difference in people’s lives and providing kindness, personalised support and dignity.
