Injection Moulding Tool Maintenance Technician
Location: United Kingdom
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting production reliability by ensuring mould tooling is maintained to the highest standard and by quickly resolving tooling-related issues that could impact performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on injection mould tools to ensure reliability and performance
2. Strip, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble mould tools to exacting standards
3. Diagnose and resolve tooling-related production issues to minimise downtime
4. Support tool changeovers and ensure tooling is production-ready
5. Maintain accurate maintenance records within the site maintenance system
6. Work in strict accordance with safe systems of work (SSOW) and established site procedures
7. Identify opportunities for tooling improvements that enhance performance and longevity
Skills & Experience
Essential
8. Proven experience in injection mould tool maintenance or toolmaking support
9. Strong mechanical aptitude with a deep understanding of mould tool construction and function
10. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
11. A proactive, problem-solving approach with a focus on quality and efficiency
Desirable
12. Formal qualification in toolmaking, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
13. Experience working with glass-filled polymers or other high-wear materials
14. Knowledge of tooling improvements and preventative maintenance strategies
