SALARY: £26,818 FTE / £20,204 Actual Annual Salary (Grade D-Step 1) + Benefits

WORKING HOURS: 32.5 hours per week, 8.30am 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only, 39 weeks

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA with an HLTA qualification, experience of working in a school setting and a good understanding of safeguarding.
Working as the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA you will join the team in a growing school where your role will be varied and will require adaptability and flexibility.
As the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA there will be opportunities to work within the whole class, teaching small groups and on a 1:1 basis with individual pupils.
DUTIES
Your duties and key responsibilities as the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA will include:
Plan and prepare lessons with teachers, participating in all stages of the planning cycle, including in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans
Provide cover across classes and support with interventions and a SENDCo Admin assistant
Develop and prepare resources for learning activities where necessary
Within an agreed system of supervision and within a pre-determined lesson framework, teach whole classes in order to provide cover
Provide verbal and written feedback on lesson content, pupil responses to learning activities and pupil behaviour, to teachers and pupils
Motivate and progress pupils learning by using clearly structured, interesting teaching and learning activities
Promote and support the inclusion of pupils, including those with specific needs, both in learning activities and within the classroom
Use behaviour management strategies to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others
Organise and safely manage the appropriate learning environment and resources
Promote and reinforce pupils self-esteem and independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement and self-reliance
Assist the class teacher in encouraging acceptance and integration of pupils with special needs, or from different cultures and/or with different first language
Support the role of parents in pupils learning and contribute to/lead meetings with parents
With teachers, evaluate pupils progress through a range of assessment activities
Assist in maintaining and analysing records of pupils progress
Contribute to reports of pupils progress for end of year reports to parents and for parents evenings
Recognise and challenge any incidents of racism, bullying, harassment, victimisation and any form of abuse of equal opportunities
Provide support and assistance for pupils pastoral needs
Maintain personal equipment used by the pupils at the school
Supervise pupils at times other than during lessons according to the school duty arrangements
To maintain confidentiality and hold the trust and confidence of both pupils and teachers
To work with children come first attitude, adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures to maintain the safety and wellbeing of all children

Have an HLTA qualification
Have relevant and recent experience of working within a school setting
