Job Description:
Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, seeks a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer specialising in Assembly and Integration. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in producing and assembling missiles. This contract opportunity may lead to a permanent position or an extension. A full apprenticeship and certificate copy are required. The role is full-time with a hybrid work schedule in Bolton.
As the Manufacturing Engineer in charge of missile assembly, it is crucial that you ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of our client's products. You will support several manufacturing projects within the Manufacturing Engineering team.
What we're looking for:
* Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 with a formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject, or
* A BEng degree in a relevant engineering field, or
* A minimum of twenty years of experience working as a manufacturing engineer.
Additional requirements include:
* Ability to interpret design drawings to produce manufacturing build instructions for operators.
* Experience in Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System level builds, with expertise in assembling small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team and interpret documents for accuracy and compliance.
* Effective collaboration, customer understanding, and prompt response skills.
* Knowledge of Company Processes and Procedures.
* Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) training and SAP experience are highly essential.
What you'll do as a Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Integration):
* Compile and update manufacturing instructions.
* Design, commission, and test associated tooling.
* Assist in industrial validation using tools such as FMEAs and FAIs.
* Resolve technical problems during manufacturing and update route cards for re-works.
* Incorporate design modifications into manufacturing instructions to ensure proper configuration control.
* Support the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.
