Location: Hybrid Portland, Dorset (Osprey Quay)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Commercial Manager to join G3 Systems at our Osprey Quay site in Portland, Dorset. This is a pivotal role responsible for leading the commercial and contractual management of assigned projects and portfolios, ensuring effective risk management and full contractual compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the G3 Systems Strategic Plan, protecting the companys commercial interests while enabling successful, value-driven outcomes for our clients.
What youll be doing
* Lead commercial activities across assigned projects and portfolios
* Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, subcontracts, and variations
* Act as a key point of contact for standard commercial documentation (e.g. NDAs, confidentiality agreements) and track their progress
* Ensure compliance with contractual terms, company policies, and relevant regulations
* Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
* Lead change control processes, including variations, claims, and negotiations
* Support bid and proposal development, including commercial strategy and risk reviews
* Provide expert commercial advice to Project Managers, Senior Leadership, and stakeholders
* Build and manage strong commercial relationships with clients, partners, and key suppliers
* Prepare and present commercial reports for senior management
* Support dispute resolution and claims management where required
* Oversee company insurance policies, including annual renewals

What were looking for
* Degree in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business, or a related discipline
* Professional qualification (or working towards), such as RICS, CIPS, or WorldCC (formerly IACCM) desirable
Who you are
Youre someone who:
* Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial role
* Strong knowledge of contract law and standard forms of contract (e.g. NEC, JCT, bespoke contracts)
* Skilled negotiator with strong stakeholder management capability
* Able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
* Analytical, commercially aware, and confident in decision-making
* High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
