We are looking for a Bereavement Operative to work as part of our team based at Crewe Cemetery undertaking the preparation of graves for burial, cremator operation and chapel attendant duties and a variety of grounds maintenance and other operational tasks in our cemeteries.
An exciting opportunity has become available to work as part of our Operations Team in Bereavement Services. The position is for 37 hours per week with core hours of 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm Friday.
As a Bereavement Operative based in Crewe you will be required to conscientiously and safely carry out a range of operational duties including
* excavation of graves prior to and the reinstatement of graves following burial using both mechanical and manual methods (full training provided)
* operation of cremators and ancillary equipment (full industry accredited training provided) and supervision of funerals taking place in our service chapel
* a variety of grounds maintenance and horticultural tasks
* safe operation of a range of fleet and machinery including 3.5t tipper & trailer, excavator, ride-on and pedestrian mowers
* empathetic and positive communication with members of the public
A strong candidate for this role in a sensitive service area would require a variety of skills and attributes, including
