We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our People Services team. As part of the Enterprise Services business, People Services operates as a HR & Payroll Shared Service, providing first line HR and Payroll advice and guidance to employees and managers. Our UK team support all 21 sites across the UK, Ireland, and Middle East locations, totalling around 7,600 employees.
The role is highly customer-focused, fast paced, varied and relies on effective collaboration with others. This role will focus on various payroll functions and less on the day to day administration, as we are supported by a processing hub team but more on the value added, as well as the opportunity to expand a little into HR services such as employee life events, terminations, and beyond.
What will you do:
1. Utilise the payroll system SAP and the HR system Workday to process transactions and troubleshoot issues and queries. This will include running reports and analysing data.
2. Process employee applications and provide guidance in line with company policies
3. Undertake a range of HR administration duties including generating employee correspondence, data audits and updating employee files, ensuring high levels of data accuracy are maintained throughout
4. Deliver high quality customer service whilst managing employee cases across the business, across multiple communication channels including email, phone and our online portal
5. Adhere to established Payroll and HR processes, knowledge, policies, company guidelines and regulations to resolve simple customer queries
6. Actively engage with and apply continuous improvement methodology to identify improvement opportunities and support process optimisation activities
7. You will provide first-line Payroll support to employees and managers including providing HR policy and process advice across the employee lifecycle and assisting employees with payslip queries. You will use our CRM system ServiceNow to proactively administer cases, manage customer expectations and adhere to SLAs
8. Understand and be compliant with the corporate data protection and confidentiality policies
9. Act as an advocate for People Services within the business and encourage adoption
Qualifications and experience you must have:
10. Prior relevant experience working within Payroll is essential
11. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced customer service environment, operating to agreed targets, SLAs and able to deliver great customer service to a wide range of employees, from shop floor to executive levels.
12. Ability to multi-task and proactively prioritise work to meet competing demands
13. Be proactive, professional and maintain high levels of confidentiality
14. Strong communication skills (written and oral) and ability to verbally coach customers over the phone or on MS Teams
15. Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
16. Ability to work independently and enjoy working under pressure
17. Strong Excel skills – ability to manipulate data and run Vlookups, formulas, etc.
Qualifications and experience we prefer:
18. Strong IT skills, including Workday, SAP, and ServiceNow experience (desirable)
19. CIPP level 3 (or equivalent) qualified (desirable)

This is a full-time hybrid role with Wednesday and Thursday in the Shirley office. The hours of work being 8-4 Monday to Thursday and 8-3.30 Friday.
