Detailed job description and main responsibilities The post holder will provide expert clinical care for patients requiring medical contact lenses. The post holder will train to provide low vision clinics in the community setting. The post holder will assist in development of optometrists, nursing & other allied health staff. This post will join a large team consisting of Optometry Unit in ophthalmology department consisting of 29 consultants and several medical staff and allied health professionals. The post holder will work closely within the optometry unit with the Cornea and Optometry lead and senior optometrists who work in contact lens and low vision department. The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment. The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
