About the Role As a DT ECT, you will: • Teach DT across KS3–KS4 • Deliver well-planned, engaging lessons that inspire creativity and technical skill • Support pupils through practical tasks, design projects and assessment work • Receive a strong ECT programme including mentoring, coaching and weekly development time • Contribute to extra-curricular activities such as engineering clubs, design challenges or STEM events • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a welcoming and stimulating classroom environment • Engage in ongoing CPD and reflective practice to strengthen your teaching This role is ideal for an enthusiastic ECT committed to developing a long-term career in DT education. Experience and Qualifications • Degree in DT, Product Design, Engineering or a related discipline • PGCE with QTS (ECT status) • Strong practical and creative skills, with understanding of workshop tools and materials • Ability to deliver safe and effective practical lessons • Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills • Passion for design, innovation and helping young people succeed Salary Paid to scale – MPS (ECT level).
